Brunei Darussalam – Members of Brunei’s Legislative Council embarked on a visit to various industrial sites within the agricultural sector, focusing on the Brunei Muara District and Tutong District. The tour aimed to examine the latest developments and achievements in the primary resources sector and tourism, contributing to the growth of Brunei’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and ensuring food security.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the visit spotlighted the ‘feedlot’ system at the PDS Abattoir Sendirian Berhad farm in Tutong District, which recorded significant livestock production in 2022, including hundreds of cows and thousands of buffaloes. Additionally, the delegation visited Mori Enterprise’s farm in the Sinaut Agricultural Development Area, known for cultivating Moringa Oleifera plants and various herbs. Another site on the tour was Springhill Development Enterprise in the Tungku ‘A’ Agricultural Development Area, where modern farming techniques and technologies were showcased. These visits underline the Legislative Council’s focus on enhancing agricultural productivity and output in the nation.
