Post: Legazpi City’s Christmas Village Expected to Attract Tourists

Legazpi City - The Christmas Village, popularly known as 'Paskuhan sa Legazpi', is set to become a major attraction in Legazpi City, drawing both domestic and foreign visitors to the Sawangan Waterfront Park. Mayor Geraldine Rosal, in an interview on Wednesday, shared that preparations for the Christmas displays are underway for the opening and lighting ceremonies on December 1.

According to Philippines News Agency, This year's 'Winter Christmas' themed Paskuhan sa Legazpi 2023 will feature a variety of Christmas decorations, including an old Christmas tree made of white lights, a winter arch, Santa Claus, a snowman, a minimalist Yuletide village, and other festive displays. Additionally, a night market at the Legazpi City esplanade adjacent to the Sawangan Park will complement the nightly activities of the Christmas village. Mayor Rosal expressed gratitude to various business establishments and civic groups contributing to this year's event, such as the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Legazpi City Chapter, Bicol Shirt City, Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE), and local schools. Agapita Pacres, chief of the Legazpi City Tourism Office (CTO), mentioned that students, academe members, city government employees, and local residents are expected to join the opening parade. A reenactment of the nativity and other entertainment activities, including concerts featuring various bands, will also be part of the celebrations, scheduled to run nightly until December 23.
