Post: Launching of penBORNEO Exhibition Gallery Highlights Borneo’s Rich History

Bandar seri begawan: The 2nd Borneo, Island of History Project, themed 'Selami Sejarah Borneo' or Dive into the History of Borneo, is being held for two days until June 28. The initiative aims to further strengthen and expand the role of the Brunei History Centre in preserving, researching, and disseminating knowledge related to the history of Borneo. The penBORNEO Exhibition Gallery and the Borneo Map Gallery were inaugurated at the Borneo Research Centre in Berakas on the morning of June 27.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was graced by Doctor Dayang Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Culture at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. Also present were Encik Abdul Munir Lutfi bin Said, Deputy High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam, and Agus Buana, Head of Chancery and Director of Social and Cultural Affairs, representing the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia. The project aims to introduce penBORNEO and expand its reach as a Borneo history reference and research center, providing a platform for knowledge sharing on history, heritage, culture, and the development of Malay civilization in the region.
