Language and Literature Bureau Hosts ‘Tamu Bahasa’ to Strengthen Malay Language

Bandar Seri Begawan – The Language and Literature Bureau, through its Language Construction and Development Division, is conducting the ‘Tamu Bahasa’ activity as part of the Language Month celebrations. This initiative is focused on disseminating knowledge and reinforcing the Malay language as the official language of the country. It aims to address current issues related to the Malay language, enhancing its usage, introducing new terms, and promoting Jawi writing, which is a distinctive feature of the Malay language identity.

According to Radio Television Brunei, The virtual activity was chaired by Dayang Hajah Sariani binti Haji Ishak, the Acting Deputy Director of the Language and Literature Bureau. The event featured a presentation on the basic study of the Lanang Beladu Lanang Book, providing attendees with insights into various aspects of the Malay language and literature. This initiative underscores the Bureau’s commitment to preserving and promoting the Malay language, ensuring its continued relevance and vitality in the modern era.
