Post: Laguna Boosts Funding for Anilag Festival 2024 to Enhance Local Participation

LAGUNA – The Laguna provincial government announced an increase in funding for local government units (LGUs) to boost their participation in the upcoming Anilag Festival 2024.

According to Philippines News Agency, the funding boost, ranging from PHP250,000 to PHP500,000, aims to encourage extensive preparations and involvement from cities and municipalities in the province. This financial support is designed to enhance the festival's role as a key driver of tourism and economic development in Laguna.

During a press conference at the Laguna Capitol extension compound on Tuesday, Hernandez detailed the plans for the eagerly awaited Anilag Festival, set to take place from March 10 to 17. He emphasized the importance of cooperation and participation from LGUs, noting that the assistance provided has been doubled based on specific criteria.

The governor highlighted the festival's potential to benefit the local tourism sector and offer cottage industries a prime opportunity to display their products. With increased domestic and foreign tourist visits expected, the Anilag Festival is anticipated to significantly promote Laguna's diverse goods and services.

Representative Ruth Hernandez of Laguna's 2nd District, a principal organizer of the festival, linked the event to her "Love Laguna" project. She described the festival as a strategic platform for boosting tourism in the province by showcasing its unique products, scenic destinations, and cultural heritage.

The Anilag Festival 2024 will feature a variety of unique activities, including the Laguna Events Supplier Wedding Expo, Tattoo Arts Competition, Sagala ng Disenyo at Kultura, and a broad range of cultural presentations, sports competitions, and entertainment events. These initiatives are part of the efforts to draw more attention to the cultural and economic vibrancy of Laguna.
