Post: KB Bulls Brothers and Ministry of Defence Triumph in Brunei’s Tug of War Tournament Finals

BRUNEI DARUSSALAM - The finals of the National Level Tug of War Tournament concluded with exciting victories across several categories, witnessed by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam after a cycling recreation event.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the tournament featured three main categories: Category C - Under 19 with a cumulative weight limit of 500 kilograms, the One-Borneo Level and the Ministries and Embassies Level, both with a limit of 680 kilograms. The KB Bulls Brothers from Belait District clinched the title in the Under 19 category, defeating Chainblock from Brunei Muara District. In the One-Borneo Level, the team from Sabah surpassed Brunei Darussalam to secure first place. The Ministry of Defence outperformed the Prime Minister's Office to win the Ministries and Embassies Level.

Prize presentations followed the contests, with His Majesty personally awarding the winners. The KB Bulls Brothers received $1,500, medals, a trophy, and the prestigious 'His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah' Challenge Trophy. Chainblock, as the first runner-up, took home $1,000 along with a trophy and medals. Sabah, the One Borneo Level champion, was awarded a $6,000 cash prize, medals, a trophy, and the 'His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office' Challenge Trophy, while Brunei Darussalam, the runner-up, received $4,000, a trophy, and medals. The Ministry of Defence was rewarded with a $7,000 cash prize, a trophy, medals, and the 'His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam' Challenge Trophy, with the Prime Minister's Office receiving $5,000, a trophy, and medals as the second place.

The day concluded with a special category tug of war featuring His Majesty and members of the Royal Family, who competed against and defeated a team of Permanent Secretaries.
