Bandar seri begawan: The Islamic Architecture Symposium took a significant step forward with its First Panel Session, focusing on ‘Building Identity and Community, Architecture of Belonging.’ The session gathered experts and enthusiasts to delve into the intricate relationship between Islamic architectural design and cultural identity.



According to Radio Television Brunei, the session was attended by notable figures, including Doctor Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, Deputy Minister of Development. The panel featured distinguished members such as Doctor Haji Mohd Rozan bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, President of Brunei Historical Society; Dayang Ruzanna Musfirah binti Haji Saji, Acting Senior Architect at the Public Works Department; and Awang Haji Mohd Farihin bin Haji Mohd Jaafar, an Architect specializing in building control and the construction industry. The panelists shared their insights and experiences, emphasizing the pivotal role of Islamic architectural design in fostering identity development and its interconnection with cultural, social, and community values, as well as creating a conducive environment.
