Post: International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking Highlighted in Tungku Gadong

Bandar Seri Begawan: Unity and continuous efforts by all parties are important in addressing the drug problem which can affect society’s harmony and future of the country. This was emphasised during the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2025 celebration. It took place at the Narcotics Control Bureau Headquarters, Tungku Gadong.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Zalani bin Haji Ismail, Director of the Narcotics Control Bureau, in his speech, also emphasised the important role of the Narcotics Control Bureau in carrying out its mandate, not only professionally but also morally and religiously responsible in preserving the safety of future generations from the threat of drugs. The celebration included Sunat Dhu’ha and Hajat prayers, and the reading of Surah Yassin. Also held was the announcement of the launch of International Recovery Day scheduled in October 2025, themed ‘Sinar Menuju Pemulihan,” to strengthen recovery efforts and society awareness on the importance of drug prevention education.
