Post: Immigration Crackdown Leads to Arrests and Sentencing for Offenders

Bandar seri begawan: The Department of Immigration and National Registration has intensified its efforts to address immigration violations through 'Operasi Kakas' JIPK 2026, focusing on apprehending offenders in the region. Recent operations have targeted rental properties in Mukim Sengkurong and Mukim Kilanas, resulting in multiple arrests. According to Radio Television Brunei, the operation in Mukim Sengkurong led to the apprehension of three foreigners who were found without valid documents and had overstayed their immigration passes. These individuals were taken to the Law Enforcement Section for further investigation. In a separate operation in Mukim Kilanas, law enforcement officials apprehended two foreigners. They were accused of overstaying their visas, misusing employment passes, and sheltering individuals who violated immigration laws. These cases are currently under investigation by the relevant authorities. Additionally, two foreigners have been sentenced for overstaying their visas. Diana, an Indonesian national, received a six-month prison sentence, while Md Tuhin Hauladar, a Bangladeshi, was sentenced to six months in prison and three strokes of whipping.
