Immigration Crackdown in Belait District Nets Five Arrests

KUALA BELAIT — A recent operation titled ‘Operasi Kabat 88/2024’ led by the Kuala Belait Law Enforcement Division of the Department of Immigration and National Registration resulted in the arrest of five individuals. Conducted at a house construction project area in Mukim Liang, the operation targeted eight foreigners suspected of immigration violations.

According to Radio Television Brunei, During the inspection, these individuals were apprehended under Section 55(4) A, B, and C of the Immigration Act, Chapter 17, for failing to present valid documents. They were subsequently taken to the Law Enforcement Division for further investigation. The Department of Immigration and National Registration has encouraged the public to report any information on immigration offenders through their contact numbers in Bandar Seri Begawan and Kuala Belait.
