Bangkok: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, SEA Games Federation Honorary Life President and President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council, awarded medals for the Women’s Wushu events, specifically the TaijiQuan and TaijiJian combined, at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games held in Thailand in 2025. The ceremony took place at the Chaeng Watthana Government Complex.
According to Radio Television Brunei, prior to the presentation, His Royal Highness attended the event where national wushu athlete Basma Lachkar secured a silver medal in the combined events of women’s Taijiquan and Taijijian, amassing a total of 19.546 points. In another competition, Walid Lachkar participated in the Daoshu and Gunshu event, finishing in 6th place with a score of 29.126 points.
In the NanDao category, Muhammad Adi Salihin Roslan delivered a performance that resulted in 9.783 points, while Abel @ Lim Wee Yuan achieved 9.750 points. The final event in the Nangun category is scheduled for 15th December 2025, which will determine the medal recipients.
