HD Spikers Secure Third Straight Victory in PVL Reinforced Conference, Climb to Pool B Lead

PASIG CITY — The Cignal HD Spikers triumphed over Capital1 in a closely contested match at the PhilSports Arena on Saturday, taking a four-set victory with scores of 25-20, 25-17, 23-25, 25-13 in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference.

According to Philippines News Agency, who led the HD Spikers with 23 points, including 20 attacks, the victory was hard-fought but rewarding. Perez, who also notched 12 excellent digs and 15 receptions, emphasized the importance of focus and continuous effort for the team. Frances Xinia and Jacqueline Acuña supported the win with significant contributions, delivering 12 and 12 points respectively, with Acuña adding six on blocks.

Capital1 showed resilience, rallying from a 17-21 deficit in the third set to win 25-23, thanks to Marina Tushova’s impressive 28-point performance. However, their efforts were not enough to overcome the strong showing by the HD Spikers, who posted 56 spikes, 10 blocks, and three aces during the game.

Cignal’s head coach, Shaq Delos Santos, acknowledged a momentary struggle in the third set but was pleased with the team’s ability to recover and close out the match. Looking ahead, Cignal is set to face Petro Gazz on Thursday, aiming to extend their winning streak, while Capital1 hopes to bounce back against Choco Mucho.
