GCash Urges social media Sellers to Adopt Digital Payment Solutions
Philippines – GCash, operated by G-Xchange, Inc. (GXI), is encouraging vendors on social media platforms to integrate digital payment solutions to enhance their business growth.
According to Philippines News Agency, Ren-Ren Reyes, GXI president and CEO, pointed out in an interview that many “social sellers” are still using personal GCash accounts, which limits their access to broader business services. GXI aims to transition these vendors to “GCash for Business,” addressing common challenges faced by businesses in the informal sector. Reyes noted that many social media-based sellers lack formal documentation, hindering their ability to secure loans for business expansion. GXI is collaborating with regulators to assist micro and small entrepreneurs in registering their businesses with minimal requirements, enabling them to access business plan solutions. An estimated 6 million business users, including micro-enterprises and social media sellers, currently utilize GCash for various operational needs like receiving payments. “GCash for Business” offers a suite of tools designed to support enterprise operations, including scan-to-pay, payroll management, advertising, promotional solutions, and more.
