Bandar Seri Begawan: With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the collection period for the Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians in Gaza has been extended for another 6 months from 19th April 2025 to 18th October 2025. This extension aims to allow the public to continue donating and help ease the hardship faced by the Palestinian people in Gaza.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the extension includes various collection platforms such as Collection via SMS Brunei Prihatin, managed by Datastream Digital Sdn Bhd, DST Sdn Bhd, Progresif Sdn Bhd, and Imagine Sdn Bhd. Additionally, donation boxes have been set up in mosques, suraus, places of worship, public buildings, as well as commercial and bank buildings in cooperation with the Association of Banks. Organizing charity activities is also a part of the initiative to collect donations. As of 17th April 2025, the total collection for the fund stands at $5,819,588.42. Part of the collection has been utilized for delivering humanitarian aid in the form of ready-to-eat meal packets to Palestine, which was carried out by air-drop from 13th to 15th March 2024.
