Essay Poetry Writing Workshop Facilitates Creative Expression

Berakas: The Essay Poetry Writing Workshop was organised to disseminate thoughts, views, and ideas among writers and to further develop creative writing. This one-day workshop was held in collaboration with the Brunei Darussalam Association of Writers ASTERAWANI and the Sabah Language and Literature Association BAHASA, taking place at the Language and Literature Bureau in Berakas.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was officiated by Dayang Hajah Haireni binti Awang Haji Damit, Acting Director of the Language and Literature Bureau. Essay Poetry, a relatively new genre in the country, combines creative, critical, and factual writing to address social issues. The workshop attracted 70 participants and featured guidance from Essay Poetry Writers from Indonesia, as well as knowledge-sharing sessions with essay poetry writers from Sabah.
