Bandar seri begawan: Efforts to maintain sustainability across industries are essential to achieving long-term economic resilience, as emphasized by the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism during the Sustainable Economy Forum 2025. The event took place on the morning of July 17 at a hotel in the capital.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the forum was organized by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) Brunei and the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Brunei, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Economy and in partnership with the Tourism Development Department. The Sustainable Economy Forum 2025 is part of the ongoing Brunei Economy Programme.
Awang Haji Mohd Yusree bin Haji Junaidi highlighted Brunei’s vision for a green economy that balances prosperity and planetary health. Over 100 senior policymakers, business leaders, sustainability experts, and regional partners attended the forum, titled ‘Naturally Brunei: Pathways to Sustainable Growth’. Topics discussed included ‘Sustainability and the SDGs: Advancing Brunei’s National Priorities through Public-Private Collaboration’. Presentations throughout the day explored national strategies to align sustainability with economic priorities.
