DTI Urges Eastern Visayas to Support Local Enterprises During Made in the Philippines Products Week
Eastern Visayas-The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is encouraging residents of Eastern Visayas to support local products in conjunction with the celebration of Made in the Philippines Products Week. DTI 8 (Eastern Visayas) Director Celerina Bato emphasized the importance of local patronage during the ‘Gawang Otso’ trade fair, which opened Thursday at a regional mall.
According to Philippines News agency, the trade fair is a key component of the government’s campaign to foster economic nationalism and enhance public trust in Philippine-made products. The event, which runs until August 18, features 69 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from across the region, offering a variety of items including handcrafted fashion accessories, housewares, and local delicacies. Bato highlighted the event as a crucial opportunity for these businesses to establish market linkages with potential partners such as government officials, restaurant and coffee shop owners, and local retailers.
