DMW Welcomes Returning OFWs from Israel and Lebanon

Manila, Philippines – The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) warmly welcomed a new batch of returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Israel and Lebanon at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City.

According to Philippines News Agency, Undersecretary Hans Leo Cacdac of the DMW and Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega of the Department of Foreign Affairs greeted the ninth batch of repatriates from Israel, comprising 42 OFWs, including 30 hotel workers, 12 caregivers, and five children. Upon their arrival, the OFWs received immediate assistance and support, including financial aid from various government agencies. The Department of Health also provided medical assistance. Comprehensive reintegration assistance and job facilitation services are being offered to help these returnees find new employment opportunities. As of November 23, a total of 299 OFWs from Israel have been repatriated through government efforts. Additionally, the fourth batch of eight OFWs from Lebanon arrived in the country, bringing the total number of repatriates from Lebanon to 27. These efforts were facilitated by the Migrant Workers Office in Beirut, headed by Labor Attache Alejandro Padaen and Assistant Labor Attache Firma Bantilan.
