Discussion on Road Maintenance Focuses on Sustainability and Local Contractor Participation


Bandar Seri Begawan: Maintenance of roads in commercial areas and the participation of local contractors were key topics discussed recently.



According to Radio Television Brunei, the discussions emphasized guidelines for more systematic and effective road maintenance, aiming for sustainable and durable road infrastructure. The meeting highlighted the need for more optimal land development planning to support sustainable development goals.



Another significant point raised was the participation of local contractors in the tender process, ensuring they can compete without compromising project quality. Additionally, a drainage study for managing the Belait River floodplain was proposed to cover the entire area, aiming to mitigate flooding issues.



The need for systematic engineering auditing and evaluation was also identified as an area for improvement, ensuring that infrastructure projects meet high standards and contribute to long-term sustainability.
