Bandar Seri Begawan: The allocations for the Ministry of Development and the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism were approved on the thirteenth day of the First Meeting of the 21st Legislative Council session. The council first heard the statement by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman on “Strategic Initiatives of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Strengthening Religious Services”. The Minister of Religious Affairs explained that the development of dakwah continues to be empowered and strengthened with the implementation of various initiatives and approaches in line with current trends. Two strategic focuses of Strong and Effective Dakwah were taken into account.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the first focus is on the increased number of mosque congregants. Programs held at mosques have attracted more congregants, enhancing both the competence and quality of mosque officials. These efforts also improve the capabilities of propagators through synergistic cooperation and methodologies from local and foreign dakwah agencies.
The second focus is the significant rise in youth participation in religious programs. An additional 200 youths have been involved in organized activities, which aim to fortify them against influences outside the mainstream.
