Declaration of Restricted Air Space Announced by Department of Civil Aviation


Bandar Seri Begawan: For additional security and safety, The Department of Civil Aviation informed that the areas within 5.5-6 kilometre radius of several locations will be declared as restricted air space.



According to Radio Television Brunei, on the 22nd of February, the restricted air space will be at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque, Bandar Seri Begawan. The restriction will then move to Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien on the 23rd of February, and finally to the Legislative Council Building on the 26th of February. Under this declaration, unauthorized aircrafts, including drones or unmanned aircrafts, are prohibited from operating in the specified airspace. Any failure to comply with this regulation constitutes a contravention of the laws and regulations of Brunei Darussalam, specifically as outlined in Section 51 of the Civil Aviation Order, 2006.
