Davao Schools Acquire Modern Electrical Labs for Student Skill Enhancement
Davao City, Philippines – Forty-three secondary schools in Davao City and nearby Davao del Norte have received a significant boost in their educational facilities through ‘Project Electrical Lab,’ an initiative that equips schools with modern electrical installation and maintenance laboratories.
According to Philippines News Agency, The project, led by Davao Light and Power Co. Inc. and supported by the Aboitiz Foundation Inc., aims to enhance the skills of students and provide them with opportunities to obtain National Certification II from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), as mentioned by Davao Light president and Chief Operating Officer Rodger Velasco during Monday’s turnover ceremony. The EIM laboratories, each valued at PHP1.3 million, are part of the company’s commitment to supporting the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Track of the Department of Education (DepEd).
Velasco stressed the company’s desire to go beyond standard corporate social responsibility by fostering a conducive learning environment, enriching experience, and promoting favorable employment conditions for students. He also aligned the project with the fourth United Nations Sustainable Development Goal, which calls for inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
