Bandar Seri Begawan: Throughout 2024, 244 individuals and 78 companies were issued compound fines for offences under the Miscellaneous Offences Act (Amendment), specifically for littering in public places and open areas. The Town Enforcement and Control Division of the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department reported that the total compound fines amounted to $111,200.
According to Radio Television Brunei, as of January 23rd this year, five individuals and nine companies were issued compound fines totaling $12,600 for similar offences under the same act. The enforcement operation involved collaboration among several government agencies, including the Royal Brunei Police Force, Department of Immigration and National Registration, Labour Department, Fire and Rescue Department, and the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation. Several other enforcement agencies also participated in the operation.
