BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Brunei - The Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRE) has issued a compound fine to SYARIKAT TERATAI MEKAR SENDIRIAN BERHAD for illegal dumping of construction waste in an open area in Kampung Lubok Pulau. The action was taken under the Miscellaneous Offences Act 2021, marking a significant enforcement of environmental regulations.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the company was fined one thousand dollars after being found guilty of disposing of construction waste unlawfully. SYARIKAT TERATAI MEKAR SENDIRIAN BERHAD has been given a seven-day period to settle the fine, highlighting the government's commitment to preserving the environment and ensuring public spaces remain clean and free of pollution.
