The Brunei Darussalam Anti-Drug Association, BASMIDA in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Tutong District Office organised a Community Outreach Programme on 20th August morning. Held in conjunction with the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2023, the programme took place at Dewan Seri Kenangan, Tutong Civic Centre Complex.
In attendance was Dato Paduka Mohd Zalani bin Haji Ismail, Director of the Narcotics Control Bureau. Also present, Awang Mohammad Sufian bin Haji Basri, Acting Tutong District Officer. The programme included a talk titled 'Masyarakat Didahulukan, Berhentikanlah Stigma dan Diskriminasi, Kuatkan Pencegahan.' The programme aimed to raise awareness on the negative impacts of the stigma towards those who have misused drugs as well as their family. Exhibitions by BASMIDA and the Narcotics Control Bureau, and the One Village One Product sales by the Village Consultative Councils in Tutong District were also held.
