Bandar Seri Begawan: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, received General Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohammad bin Ab. Rahman, the Chief of Defence Force of the Malaysian Armed Forces, in an audience ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman. The event took place on the afternoon of January 22nd.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the visit marks General Mohammad's Farewell Visit to Brunei Darussalam as he prepares to conclude his service as the 22nd Chief of Defence Force of the Malaysian Armed Forces. He will officially hand over his leadership duties on Friday, 31 January 2025. The General, along with his delegation, is visiting Brunei for two days, beginning January 21st. The strong bilateral diplomatic relations between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia are underscored by a well-established defence cooperation, formally initiated through a Memorandum of Understanding signed on 14 February 1992.
During the audience, His Majesty engaged with the Chief of Defence Force, who was accompanied by the Charg© d'Affaires of the High Commission of Malaysia in Bandar Seri Begawan.
