Bandar Seri Begawan: Three Operasi Panyap were carried out by the Department of Immigration and National Registration recently targeting areas in the Brunei Muara District. In an inspection operation conducted at a rental house in Mukim Berakas 'B', a foreigner was arrested for three offences: overstaying in the country after his immigration pass had expired, working not with the original employer, and working not according to the position listed in his work pass.
According to Radio Television Brunei, during operations on a rental house in Mukim Kilanas and a worker's house in Mukim Pengkalan Batu, seven foreigners were arrested. Five of them were believed to have committed the offence of overstaying in the country after their immigration passes had expired. Meanwhile, three out of these five people were believed to have committed an offence by working using a visit pass. The other two were suspected of working not with the original employer and conspiring to commit immigration offences.
In another operation that targeted a business premises in Mukim Gadong 'B', two foreigners were arrested for committing the offence of working with a visit pass.
