Brunei Darussalam Braces for Active Weather Conditions Through Weekend
Brunei Darussalam – Active weather conditions are expected to continue across Brunei Darussalam until Sunday, 26th November 2023. The Forecast Centre of the Meteorological Department, in its latest Weather Advisory Update, has reported that the region will experience occasional heavy and thundery showers. Wind gusts may reach up to 45 kilometres per hour during or near these heavy thundershowers. Over Brunei waters, the sea state is expected to remain slight to moderate, with wave heights reaching up to 1.8 metres.
According to Radio Television Brunei, there is a high risk of flash floods, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas, as well as near river banks during continuous heavy rain and high tide. Additionally, the possibility of landslides and fallen trees is increased during heavy showers and gusty conditions. The public, including road users and fishermen, are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure safety during these active weather conditions.
