Berlin: On the side-lines of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, the Brunei Darussalam delegation engaged in a discussion with representatives from the German SME Association (BVMW). The meeting, held in Berlin, brought together companies from the energy, engineering, industrial technology, manufacturing, and advanced materials sectors. The central focus was on exploring opportunities to enhance economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Brunei and Germany, particularly in areas such as renewable energy, sustainable industrial development, digital economy, logistics, infrastructure, and advanced technologies.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the discussions highlighted a growing interest among German businesses in forming partnerships and expanding their engagement with Brunei. This meeting is seen as a step towards strengthening economic relations between the two nations. In line with these efforts, a trade visit to Brunei Darussalam has been planned for August this year.

The Brunei Darussalam delegation was led by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy. Andreas Jahn from Der Mittelstand, as President of BVMW, headed the German business delegation.
