Brunei Central Bank Releases Commemorative Coins for National Day
Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei – In celebration of the 40th National Day, the Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) is launching three types of commemorative coin products: Gold Coins, Silver Coins, and Cupronickel Coins. Pengiran Maslina binti Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Executive Director of BDCB Currency Management, announced the launch at a recent press conference. The coins will be available to the public starting Tuesday, February 27th, with sales taking place at designated times, including a special schedule for Fridays.
According to Radio Television Brunei, These commemorative coins, available at the BDCB Currency Gift Shop on the first floor of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, feature a portrait of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on the obverse, symbolizing his wise leadership and integrity. The reverse side showcases Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas, with the design crafted by Awang Abdul Ajihis bin Haji Terawih from the Art Design and Photography Unit of The Language and Literature Bureau.
