Bandar Seri Begawan: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah of Brunei Darussalam emphasized the sacred friendship between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Indonesia during a State Banquet held in honor of His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, the President of the Republic of Indonesia. His Majesty highlighted the shared religious bond and mutual protection of their nations during this significant visit, which took place at the Istana Nurul Iman.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony commenced with His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah accompanying President Subianto from The Empire Brunei to Istana Nurul Iman. Upon their arrival, students and teachers from several schools greeted the President with miniature flags of both countries. The official proceedings included a Salute of Honour, national anthems, and a twenty-one gun salute, followed by an inspection of the Guard of Honour by the two leaders.
President Subianto was introduced to members of the Royal Family and key officials from Brunei, including Cabinet Ministers and members of the Privy Council. His Majesty was then introduced to the Indonesian delegation. The subsequent Audience Ceremony at Cheradi Laila Kenchana featured discussions between His Majesty and President Subianto, attended by members of the Royal Family and the Indonesian delegation.
The visit was marked by the Conferment of the 'Darjah Kerabat Laila Utama Yang Amat Dihormati', DK, to President Subianto, granting him the title 'Dato Laila Utama'. This gesture symbolized the strong and respectful ties between the two countries, as acknowledged by both leaders during the State Welcoming Ceremony.
