Post: Boosting the Country’s Economy

Muara Port will be able to facilitate trade between this region and western China through the international sea-land trade corridor. With the maiden voyage of a cargo ship from Muara port to Qinzhou Port, this will potentially boost the sector's trade, growth and connectivity. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy explained the matter at the Launching of the first maiden container voyage from Muara Port to Beibu Gulf Port China and Muara Port Achievements Gallery, 8th July afternoon. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, also said that this is certainly important to the economic development of the country and the ASEAN Growth Area region, BIMP-EAGA with the availability of import and export facilities and opening up new markets.

The launch of the cargo ship shows a new economic route that will further strengthen the close relationship between Brunei Darussalam and China. The introduction of the shipping route certainly provides economic benefits for both countries. The ceremony ran concurrently with the launch of the Muara Port Achievements Gallery. Also present were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development and Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications.
