Post: Bicol Region’s Fourth Most Wanted Captured in Sorsogon for Multiple Rape Charges

LEGAZPI: Authorities in Sorsogon City, as part of a concerted effort to apprehend the most wanted individuals in the Bicol Region, successfully captured a 42-year-old rape suspect, known only as "Ron".

According to Philippines News Agency, Ron was arrested on Wednesday via a warrant, marking a significant step in addressing sexual violence within the region. Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, PRO5 spokesperson, detailed that Ron faces six counts of rape and has been denied bail. Following his capture, Ron was transferred to the Sorsogon Provincial Field Unit of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for further legal proceedings.

In a related effort to combat illicit activities, a resident of Pasig City was apprehended in Naga City during an entrapment operation. Identified as "Sarang", the suspect was caught selling 300 grams of shabu, valued at PHP2 million, to an undercover police officer. The arrest took place in Barangay Concepcion Pequeña, highlighting the police's proactive approach to disrupting drug trafficking networks. The operation's success led to Sarang's detention at Police Station 2, Naga City Police Office, where evidence was formally documented and marked in the presence of required witnesses.
