BIBD Launches ALAF Bursary Scheme to Support Education


Bandar Seri Begawan: In its commitment to expand access to education, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) launched the BIBD ALAF Bursary Scheme. The ceremony, held in the capital on the afternoon of January 28th, ran concurrently with the presentation of scholarships for the BIBD ALAF Programme to new students.



According to Radio Television Brunei, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs and Chairman of BIBD, was on hand to present the scholarships. A total of 56 students received scholarships under the programme. Currently, six BIBD ALAF Scholars are pursuing their studies overseas in universities in Australia, Malaysia, and Egypt. Meanwhile, 30 students will constitute the first cohort of the BIBD ALAF Bursary Scheme.
