BARMM Chief Minister Advocates Moral Governance to Newly Elected Cotabato Officials
COTABATO CITY – Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim has urged the new barangay officials in Cotabato City to adopt moral governance and prioritize transparency and the welfare of their constituents.
According to Philippines News Agency, he enjoined the nearly 600 newly elected village and Sangguniang Kabataan officials from the city’s 37 barangays to safeguard the rights and interests of the people they serve. The oath of moral governance, which was administered early on, emphasizes legal and legitimate actions, rational policymaking, and accountability to the public. In addition to adherence to the law, the chief minister called on officials to combat illegal drugs and other societal ills, underscoring their heightened responsibilities. BARMM Interior Minister Naguib Sinarimbo also spoke, reminding officials from the region’s 2,592 villages to be exemplary leaders and maintain a visible presence in their localities. To facilitate the transition, BARMM has created teams responsible for overseeing the fiscal and physical accountabilities of outgoing and incoming village officials.
