LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a weather bulletin forecasting cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms across the Bicol Region, which includes Albay, due to the easterlies affecting the area. The bulletin, released at 4 a.m. on Saturday, also warned of possible flash floods or landslides in these regions owing to moderate to at times heavy rains.
According to Philippines News Agency, the northeast monsoon, locally known as "amihan," is expected to cause cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands. Similarly, the Ilocos and Cordillera regions, along with the rest of the Cagayan Valley, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
For Metro Manila and the remainder of the country, the forecast predicts partly cloudy to cloudy skies accompanied by isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, attributed to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms. The weather bureau also noted that moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters will persist over extreme Northern Luzon, while the rest of the Philippines will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.
Temperature ranges across key cities were provided, indicating cooler weather in Baguio City at 15°C to 25°C, and warmer temperatures in Metro Manila, Legazpi City, Metro Cebu, Puerto Princesa City, and Metro Davao, ranging from 24°C to 32°C. Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay vigilant and prepare for the potential impacts of the weather conditions.
