Post: 64th RBAF Anniversary Marks Commitment to Combat Readiness and Cyber Defense

Muara: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Deputy Sultan, delivered a sabda emphasizing the importance of maintaining a high level of combat readiness and preparedness within the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). The remarks were made during the 64th RBAF Anniversary celebration held at the Parade Ground of the Muara Naval Base, Royal Brunei Navy.

According to Radio Television Brunei, His Royal Highness highlighted the need for the RBAF to adopt a Whole of Government approach, fostering cooperation with various stakeholder ministries and institutions to enhance military professionalism. Additionally, His Royal Highness stressed the importance of collaboration with national cybersecurity agencies and friendly nations’ armed forces to strengthen the nation’s cyber defenses.

The anniversary event featured a grand parade with one thousand and sixty-four RBAF personnel participating. His Royal Highness was welcomed by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence, along with Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the RBAF.

Following the welcoming ceremony, His Royal Highness inspected the Guard of Honour, led by Commander Mohammad Faizal Ezam bin Haji Abas of the Royal Brunei Navy, and observed the slow and quick march-past.

In his sabda, His Royal Highness acknowledged the significant developments within the RBAF as it matures, particularly in enhancing human resource capacity. He praised the initiatives to recruit specialists from friendly nations, which aim to optimize training participation while reducing national expenses. The importance of maintaining the integrity of the country’s cyber defense was also a key point in the sabda.

The event concluded with a doa selamat, read by Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Mujib bin Haji Japar, Acting Director of the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT).
