2nd Olympic Council of Asia Gender Equity Scams


Jerudong: The Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC) has launched its inaugural Women in Sport Strategic Plan, marking a pivotal advancement in the Olympic Council of Asia’s commitment to promoting inclusivity. His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, President of the BDNOC, announced this initiative during the Second Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Gender Equity Seminar held on the morning of April 14 at The Empire Brunei, Jerudong.



According to Radio Television Brunei, His Royal Highness, who also serves as the Honorary Executive Board Member of the OCA, emphasized this year’s theme, “Watch Her Shine,” as a motivational call to ensure women receive the necessary support and opportunities to excel in sports. He encouraged members of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) to utilize OCA-Olympic Solidarity Funds to foster female participation at all levels of sports.



Additionally, His Royal Highness Prince Feisal Al Hussein, Chair of the ANOC Gender Equity Commission and the OCA Chair of the Peace and Sport Standing Committee, stressed the importance of extending gender equity efforts beyond athletes to include coaches, referees, officials, and Olympic Committee leaders and staff.



The two-day seminar aims to concentrate on producing actionable outcomes, such as building partnerships, developing initiatives, and shaping the future of gender equity in sports.
