His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al- Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah says that the Brunei Fertilizer Industries, Sendirian Berhad, BFI Plant project is expected to be able to reduce the country's dependence on the export of oil and gas products. Thus, His Majesty is confident that BFI will continue to play a vital role in further accomplishing the government and country's aspirations. His Majesty made the titah at the Launch of the BFI Plant in Sungai Liang, Belait District, 25th February morning. His Majesty began the titah by highlighting that the project symbolises the Government's commitment in upholding efforts to further enhance the country's economic activities.

Al-Quran literacy effort is not solely on the part of the Department of Islamic Studies and the Ministry of Religious Affairs, but parents also play an important role in providing early exposure to the reading of Al-Quran to their children. The Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs highlighted the matter at the Prize Presentation Ceremony of the under 10 Khatam Al-Quran Incentive Scheme for Religious and Arabic Schools at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha's Girls Secondary Arabic Religious School, Kampong Katok. Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan said that with solid cooperation from all parties, success can be achieved.
The Deputy Minister also said that we must always strive to ponder over the meaning of the verses of the Qur'an and making them a practice.
Some One Hundred 68 pupils have registered in the preliminary round. The Under-10 Khatam Al-Quran Incentive Scheme is a boost for students to learn Al-Quran from an early age. The ceremony organised by the Department of Islamic Studies through the Curriculum Division was held for the 31st time.
