Involvement of Seven Bruneian Ethnics Group

Over 4,000 participants representing 7 groups are participating in the parade event during the National Day Celebration, this Thursday. The group consists of Head of Parade; National Peace; Bestari Society; Public and Private Sector; Education Sector; Civil Movement and Excellent Team.

Seven Bruneian Ethnics Group are among those who will participate in the Bestari Society team. Involving one hundred and 75 participants, this kind of involvement provides an opportunity for the ethnics groups in the country to socialize the culture and traditions of each tribe and introduce their existence to the current generation. Through it can also show patriotic spirit in celebrating National Day.

Also participating in this year's parade is the Friendly Nation Coalition Team, which plays a role in maintaining the peace of the nation and the country through interaction at the grassroots level.

National Day Rehearsal

The 39th National Day Celebration will be held this Thursday with the Grand Assembly at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien, Bandar Seri Begawan. To ensure that the performance runs smoothly and in an orderly manner, a joint rehearsal was held yesterday morning.

This year's theme is similar as last year namely 'Menjayakan Wawasan Negara' or Accomplishing the National Vision which still remains relevant because it is on the way to achieving the goals of the Wawasan Brunei 2035. Apart from that, the theme also emphasises cultural heritage as the nation's identity that is always relevant to the development of the country and the nation. Present to witness the rehearsal was Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs.

Kesyukuran Ceremony Rehearsal

The Kesyukuran Ceremony of the mass Fardhu Maghrib and Isya' Prayers, the reading of Surah Yasin and Do'a Kesyukuran in conjunction with the 39th National Day Celebration will take place late tomorrow afternoon at the Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital. To ensure that the ceremony runs smoothly, the Religious Event Working Committee took a closer look at the preparation for the ceremony this afternoon.

Present were Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Wawasan Brunei 2035 Supreme Council Meeting

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, chaired the First Meeting of Wawasan Brunei 2035 Supreme Council for the Year 2023 at Istana Nurul Iman. Among the main roles of the Supreme Council is to ensure that strategies and policies related to the national development agenda are coordinated at the highest level in a more systematic manner. They should also continue to address issues and challenges to lead the country towards achieving Wawasan Brunei 2035.

Also in attendance was His Majesty's son, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, as the Deputy Chairman of the Wawasan Brunei 2035 Supreme Council.

The meeting began with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs. Among other matters, the meeting discussed the progress of Wawasan Brunei 2035 covering 'Economic Blueprint'; 'Manpower Blueprint' and 'Social Blueprint' as well as future plans.

Realising Main Agenda Development

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, as the Chairman of the Wawasan Brunei 2035 Supreme Council in a titah highlights giving the appropriate attention to Wawasan Brunei 2035 and that it must be realised as the main agenda of national development.

His Majesty's stresses the reminder while chairing the First Meeting of the Wawasan Brunei 2035 Supreme Council for the Year 2023 at Istana Nurul Iman yesterday morning. His Majesty also expresses gratitude to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala for the blessing of being able to sit together at the First Meeting of Wawasan Brunei 2035 Supreme Council for 2023.
