Retreat Session

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam stresses the importance of ensuring continuity of fair and equitable distribution of vaccines in the COVID-19 recovery efforts and expresses appreciation to members of the Commonwealth who provided assistance to others, including Brunei Darussalam.

In a titah during the Retreat Session of the 26th Commonwealth Heads of State Government Meeting, CHOGM, which was held at Intare Conference Arena, Kigali, Republic of Rwanda, His Majesty further highlights the importance of mental healthcare and well-being of the people as part of the post COVID-19 recovery phase and ASEAN's efforts on the matter, and congratulates Bangladesh for its initiative on mental health (Roundtable on Mental Health: 'Rethinking Mental Health: A Commonwealth Call to Support, Care and Transform').

His Majesty in the titah extends congratulations to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second as Head of the Commonwealth on celebrating her Platinum Jubilee and 70 years of devotion to the Commonwealth. His Majesty also extends congratulations to His Excellency Paul Kagame, the President of the Republic of Rwanda on assuming the Chairmanship of CHOGM, and to the Republic of Rwanda on hosting the first in-person meeting after a two-year delay. In concluding the titah, His Majesty also commends the United Kingdom's hosting of the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham from 28th July till 8th August 2022.

The Commonwealth leaders at the Retreat Session, among other things, discussed youth, technology and innovation as well as global challenges.

Appreciation Ceremony for Teachers and Students

The Arabic Language Intervention and Knowledge Unit of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School held The Takrim Appreciation Ceremony for Teachers and Students participating in the Arabic Language activities throughout 2021 to 2022. It took place at Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School, 25th June.

20 officers and teachers involved in the Cultural Exchange Programme Between Brunei Darussalam and Oman for 2021 to 2022 received appreciation gifts from Awang Haji Norhisyam bin Haji Md. Noor, Acting Principal of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School. Appreciation gift were also handed over to 52 students from Year 6 to Year 11, participating in the Arabic Language activities. Also held was presentation of award to best Arabic Language group.
