Bandar Seri Begawan: 15 companies received warnings during 'Operasi Kemas' (OP-KEMAS) conducted by the Department of Town and Country Planning, Brunei Muara District. Among these, 4 companies faced compound fines under the Town and Country Planning Regulations, 2018.
According to Radio Television Brunei, these companies disregarded the warnings issued by the authorities and violated regulations. The infractions included placing, using, obstructing, and displaying items on sidewalks and landscaped areas, which could lead to hazardous conditions due to the slippery and dirty state of these spaces.
Such violations not only pose safety risks but also detract from the aesthetic value and beauty of business areas in the country. The prescribed fine for each offence is capped at $500, and the companies have been given a period of seven days to settle the fines.
