138,000 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Receive Land Titles Under President Marcos Jr.

QUEZON CITY — In a significant milestone for agrarian reform, over 138,000 beneficiaries have received land titles since July 2022 under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. This achievement comes as part of ongoing efforts to fulfill longstanding governmental promises of land redistribution.

According to Philippines News Agency, the distribution of land titles to 138,056 agrarian reform beneficiaries aligns with commitments President Marcos Jr. made during his previous State of the Nation Addresses (SONAs). The initiative continues the legacy of agrarian reform that began under his father, President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr., who initiated the country’s land reform program in 1972. Additionally, the recent enactment of Republic Act No. 11953, known as the New Agrarian Emancipation Act, further supports beneficiaries by relieving them from the burden of agrarian reform debts, fulfilling another promise made by President Marcos Jr. in his 2022 SONA.

The progress in agrarian reform is set to be a key topic in President Marcos Jr.’s upcoming third SONA, scheduled for Monday at the Batasang Pambansa, where he will address both houses of Congress.
