Ukraine Refutes Allegations of Involvement in Moscow Attack
KYIV – Ukraine has firmly denied any involvement in the recent terrorist attack in Moscow, as stated by Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak. The denial comes in response to speculations linking Ukraine to the incident that resulted in significant casualties in the Russian capital.
According to Philippines News Agency, suggestions that Ukraine had any role in the tragic events at Crocus City Hall are baseless and a distortion of facts. He emphasized that Ukraine’s strategy against Russian aggression is focused on legitimate battlefield engagements, dismissing any purported connections to the attack as “absurd.”
In the aftermath of the attack, which left at least 115 dead and 145 injured during a concert, Podolyak criticized the Russian security services for their quick insinuation of a ‘Ukrainian trace,’ labeling such claims as a reflection of the predictability and simplicity often attributed to the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). He underlined the importance of acknowledging the factual sequence of events, which reportedly involved the assailants entering a highly populated area in Moscow without any security checks and engaging in violence for over an hour without intervention from local law enforcement.
Podolyak also provided insights into the chaotic aftermath, noting that preliminary investigations and witness accounts suggest the attackers had links to Islamic radicalism. He described how the assailants managed to exit the scene without hindrance and were believed to be heading toward a region with active conflict and heavy Russian military presence, intending a conspicuous border crossing.
The attack occurred as fans gathered for a performance by the rock band Picnic, casting a shadow over Moscow and drawing international attention to the security situation within Russia’s borders.
