Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Hosts Tahlil Ceremony

Bandar Seri Begawan: His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Chairman of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Committee of Governors, attended a Tahlil Ceremony for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit, and Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim. The ceremony, organized by Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, took place at the Royal Mausoleum on the morning of March 6.

According to Radio Television Brunei, upon arrival, His Royal Highness was welcomed by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs and Member of the Yayasan Committee of Governors. Also present were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence, serving as Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors, and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health and Deputy Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors.

The Tahlil Ceremony included the reading of Surah Yasin, Tahlil, and Doa Arwah, led by Yang Dimuliakan Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamidon bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Hamid. His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik concluded the ceremony by pouring Aing Asah-Asahan, or scented water, on the tombs of the honored individuals.
