UBD Showcases Cutting-Edge Research and Innovations at Special Exhibition
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN — Following the conferral of degrees at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam’s (UBD) 36th Convocation Ceremony, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah attended a special exhibition that highlighted the university’s latest research findings and the accomplishments of its graduates.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the exhibition featured a range of innovative projects, including a new nationwide health screening process that utilizes Artificial Intelligence, developed by academics from the Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences. Another highlight was the Centre for Advanced Research (CARe) which showcased specialized programs aimed at addressing the unique healthcare and social needs of senior citizens. Additionally, the exhibition presented the final year projects of two graduates, who participated in this year’s UBD Spectrum: Unveil titled “Unfolding the Unknown,” and “Si Kuning.”
One of the standout displays included the prototype electric car developed by this year’s UBD Shell Eco-Marathon team, which set a new national record at the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia Pacific and the Middle East 2024. This achievement underlines UBD’s role as a leader in education and innovation in Brunei, contributing significantly to the training of skilled graduates capable of advancing national development goals.
