UBD Medical Students Drive Stroke Awareness Initiative in Belait District

BELAIT DISTRICT — In an ongoing effort to combat stroke through public education, third-year medical students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) held a series of stroke awareness events at the Senior Citizens Activity Centre, PKWE, on the morning of August 10th.

According to Radio Television Brunei, known collectively as SPARK, the initiative aims to educate the public on stroke recognition and promote preventive measures such as physical activity among the elderly. The program included talks on stroke awareness, health assessments, and sessions on identifying and managing stroke symptoms. A follow-up survey was conducted to assess the impact of the knowledge imparted on attendees, demonstrating a proactive approach to community health education.
