Ramos and Avanzado Dominate at IronKids Duathlon in Davao
DAVAO CITY — Euan Arrow Ramos and Eleora Avanzado emerged as champions in their respective divisions at the IronKids duathlon event, which took place in Davao City on Saturday.
According to Philippines News Agency, who represents the Baguio Benguet Triathlon team, clinched the boys’ 13-15 title with a time of 31 minutes and 45 seconds after completing the 3km run, 10km bike, and 1.5km run segments. His performance included an 8:39 first run, a 17:09 bike stage, and a 5:12 final run, securing his victory over competitors Marco San Alegro (31:51) and Johan Joey Marcelo (33:08). This win marks Ramos’s sixth consecutive victory, following his previous success at the IronKids event in Subic in June.
Eleora Avanzado, also a winner at the Subic event, took first place in the girls’ division with a total time of 37:35. Her segments included a 10:38 first run, a 20:05 bike ride, and a 5:54 second run, narrowly beating Christy Ann Perez (37:41) and JD Amadeo (52:10).
The event also featured competitions in younger age categories. Zachary Da Silva and Lauren Tan claimed the top spots in the 11-12 category, while Adolf Bacawag and Searafina Redila were victorious in the 9-10 class. In the youngest group, the 6-8 category, winners were John Luigi Remolino II and Maria Jazmine Sales.
The IronKids duathlon serves as a precursor to the much-anticipated fourth Ironman 70.3 event scheduled for Sunday in Davao City.
