Munajat Night Programme Highlights World Cancer Day Theme with Emphasis on Diversity and Cooperation
Bandar Seri Begawan: This year’s World Cancer Day theme, “United by Unique,” was a focal point during the Munajat Night Programme organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The theme underscores the importance of embracing diversity, individual uniqueness, and collaboration in addressing the complexities of cancer.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the event commenced with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Doctor Haji Awang Mohamad Zulkhairi bin Haji Awang Mohamad, Head of Medical Oncology and Palliative Care Unit and Consultant Oncology at the Brunei Cancer Centre, Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC). The gathering took place at Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Malik Mosque, Kampong Tungku Katok, and was attended by officers and staff from the Brunei Cancer Centre, JPMC, and the Department of Renal Services, Ministry of Health. Additionally, students from the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Qur’an Institute, Takmir Committee members, and congregants from Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Malik Mosque, Kampong Tungku Katok, and Kampung Tanah Jambu Mosque, along with representatives from 65 suraus and religious halls nationwide, participated in the event.
