Symposium on History of Islamic Civilisation in the Archipelago Held in Brunei

Bandar seri begawan: The Brunei History Centre, through its Research and Documentation Division and the Borneo Research Division, penBorneo, organised a Symposium on the History of Islamic Civilisation in the Archipelago. The event, themed “Tinggalan Sejarah Sumber Ketamadunan Islam Nusantara,” aimed to gather scholars from various fields to discuss the rich tapestry of Islamic civilisation in the archipelago.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the symposium saw the presence of Associate Professor Doctor Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani, the Ra’es of Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College. Doctor Awang Haji Muhammad Hadi bin Muhammad Melayong, Head of the Brunei History Centre, delivered the keynote address titled “Ketamadunan Islam Di Brunei: Masa Lalu Untuk Masa Depan,” which explored the Islamic civilisation in Brunei, grounded in the principles of Malay Islamic Monarchy. The symposium also featured the presentation of nine working papers, each delving into the historical heritage and development of Islamic civilisation in the region.
